Newcastle Scholarships

April 10th, 2015

This academic year 2014-5 has seen the Foundation provide two more scholarships to female students at the Chemical Engineering faculty of Newcastle University. This project is going from strength to strength and we now have awarded 5 scholarships over the first three years of the Foundation’s involvement. Our first scholars have now graduated and it is hugely rewarding to see how much benefit we can provide through our support.

El Camino de Santiago May 2015

April 10th, 2015

Several of the friends of Fiona have talked for some time of a wish to walk at least part of El Camino across Northern Spain. The last 125 kms through Galicia have particular resonance because of the Foundation’s links with the school exchange to Nigran. The first week of May will see a group of friends, many of whom are long term supporters of the Foundation, taking on this challenge and raising funds for the Foundation in doing so. This is the major fundraising project for the Foundation in 2015 and again all donations would be welcome.

The year was rounded off with the Christmas party and again all donations were well received. The trustees are so grateful for everyone’s support and we ended the year by meeting our income targets and in a poistion to continue with all of the projects that we have chosen. 2015 will see a few changes
