Fiona Foundation prize at Newcastle University awarded.

We are pleased to announce the recipient of the Fiona Foundation Prize at Newcastle University is Kudzaishe Chiwara, studying Chemical Engineering.

Kudzaishe is a deserved winner of the Prize and we are delighted that our ongoing support for women in Chemical Engineering at Newcastle goes from strength to strength. Kudzaishe’s commented about the meaning of the prize to her:

“I chose Newcastle University because it was one of the top 5 universities to study Chemical Engineering.

My dad and I were like it doesn’t matter how far away from home it is, we just want the best. My favourite thing about studying here has been the beautiful friendship and unforgettable memories I have made along the way.

This year I’ll be joining the Chemical Engineering Society and like going to the gym. For hobbies I enjoy crocheting and drawing in my spare time.

The Fiona Foundation Prize will greatly help me with my maintenance and transportation, as well as help me invest in getting my driving license.

I’m very grateful and honoured to be receiving this donation. It has motivated me to continue pursuing and working hard to get my degree in Chemical Engineering. Thank you very much.

This was a great surprise to me that had me screaming at home when I saw the email with my siblings. As it was so unexpected. It’s something I’ll never forget, thank you.”
