Year 6 Leavers’ Mass

The Fiona Foundation supported the St John’s school and church on Sunday 15 July by providing gifts of lavender plants to each of the 53 graduating children. It was an emotional day for children and parents alike but above all it was a great celebration of the 8 happy years at the school for the Year 6 Leavers’ Mass

Football kits to order

Many of you will have seen the Fiona Foundtion logo on the Parish football kit over the last few months. Kevin Savage is still taking orders for these – £30 in adult sizes and £20 in kids sizes. Kevin is a great supporter of the Fiona Foundation and has recently raised over £100 from various Football kits to order

John Fitzgerald – Edinburgh in a heatwave!

John recently completed the Edinburgh marathon on a baking hot Sunday morning. What a fantastic achievement! We are really grateful to John who marked his achievement by raising over £600 for the Fiona Foundation. Thanks

John O Hare – Chorlton’s Man of Iron

John recently completed the Iron Man challenge. Chorlton has witnessed his staggeringly committed training schedule over the last few months and everyone is so immensely proud of his achievement. The fact that he pulled his hamstring in the opening mile of running the marathon was, of course, no deterrent. The man eats pain for breakfast!

Summer Party Success

On 30 June at Manley Mere we had a fabulous day and evening. The weather was kind enough to make the adventure trail grotesquely muddy and yet warm enough for the barbecue and party to be a proper summer occasion. The kids had a great time, the adults seemed happy enough and the 50 or Summer Party Success

The summer party

The summer party is taking place at Manley Mere near Chester on 30 June. If there is anyone who has not received an invite please don’t hesitate to contact us so that we can send you the invitation. Entry is by ticket only. We look forward to seeing you.

Football kit launch

On Sunday 19 February from 1.30pm onwards at the Bowling Green we will be having a get together to launch the Fiona Foundation logo on the Parish football kit. As always the Fiona Foundation is a great reason and an excuse for folks to meet up and enjoy the opportunity to meet with friends and Football kit launch

John Hannaway and the long walk to Wicklow

John completed the Art O Neill challenge. He was doubtless the winner in his age group; there can’t have been many as old and unwise to undertake a 54km walk overnight in the middle of January. The story of climbing in and out of peat ditches is really quite unpleasant. However, the great man finished John Hannaway and the long walk to Wicklow

Fiona’s Garden

Chorlton residents will have noticed the work going on in the grounds of the Church at St. Johns. Greg Fildes has been battling the freezing weather and has made a significant start on the garden. The foundation is laid and the planting will start in the next few weeks.

Christmas Party Update

We raised nearly £6,000 at the Christmas Party. Thank you for making it such a wonderful evening.
