For this year, we have supported the Kids Action Through Science Programme co-ordinated by Newcastle University. This introduces primary school children to the world of science education with a particular focus on the science of the changing climate.
The photographs show the children from Monkseaton Middle School participating in the citizen science beach activities at Tynemouth and the group selected to visit the University campus, where they visited the Makerspace in the Stephenson Engineering Building to print out their tote bag designs.

They also had a tour around the Great North Museum, and received their prize certificates.

Hopefully, the activities have inspired a few more scientists and engineers of the future!
